The goal of this site is to share our methods, techniques, and experiences with the hope that it encourages further adoption of digital geologic field mapping in teaching, research, and industry. Many of the technology and techniques are perfectly adaptable to other disciplines like environmental sciences, botany, and archaeology.
GeoPad Technology
This site is an effort to introduce a highly user-friendly, affordable, and adaptable digital field mapping and data collection system that has been developed and tested at UCR over the last two years. Based on the successes of implementing this technology in teaching and research so far (and the general lack of websites detailing digital field mapping in the geosciences) I was compelled to create this site.
